Technical question
I have a (presumably perfectly working) LCD screen from an otherwise broken laptop split up for parts. I'm looking to hook this up to a PC somehow to output video.

There are specialist boards on the market, but they're ridiculously pricey. Any ideas?

It's genuinely not worth it. Rubbish is rubbish.

^ nounverb comments with the best option. Trying to buy a controller board for it and hooking that up to a standard graphics card is not worth the time or money you'd spend on it. Hell, you can probably get a better quality, bigger, brighter, higher resolution TFT LCD with a warranty for the same amount you'd spend trying to fix it.

Yeah umm I think that sounds pretty unlikely to be possible without the ridiculously pricey specialist boards.
